People talk about “Green Energy” (a term I believe is a misnomer, for reasons I won’t document here) as a panacea for the Earth’s gradual warming (a behavior controlled by thermodynamics and the Sun, to which Humans make a small contribution…but, I digress).

Among other things, neither wind turbines or solar collectors have the capacity, availability, or reliability of fossil or nuclear fueled plants, and there isn’t enough lithium in the world to create enough batteries to store the electricity needed when the sun has set, the wind is still, or the turbines or collectors break.

But, imagine if one could combine the advantages of fossil-fueled plants and the warm, cozy, do-good feeling “Green Energy” provides without totally relying on battery storage or keeping the population in the dark without air conditioning?

Here’s one company that’s not just imagining it, but working to make it possible…by making electricity from water:

When the supply of wind and/or solar electricity on the grid, combined with the output of a Mitsubishi Power gas turbine, exceeds demand, the Hydaptive™ controls package will direct the wind and/or solar electricity to an electrolyzer, which creates hydrogen.
