Recently, when asked by Tucker Carlson how defending the Ukraine against Russia’s invasion – at a cost of almost $200,000,000,000 and rising – helps to protect the National Security interests of the United States, former Vice President Mike Pence replied:
“Vladimir Putin has revealed his true nature, a dictator consumed conquest and willing to spend thousands of lives for his commitment to reestablish the Greater Russian Empire. Anyone who thinks Putin will stop at Ukraine’s border is not owning up to the reality of who Putin is. We need to be clear-eyed about the Russian threat: that Georgia, the Crimea, and Ukraine are merely at the top of Putin’s lists, they are not the only countries he’s aiming for. And by supporting Ukraine, we have told China we will support Taiwan, should they follow Russia in an attempt to invade.”

Not to defend Vladimir Putin, but are we sure he’s the one who is trying to establish an “Empire in Europe”?

The Expansion of NATO Since 1949
If nothing else Vladimir Putin understands national security and history: The former Soviet Union (now Russia) wanted to control the Eastern portion of Europe after World War II to create a buffer zone between them and the country which invaded them twice: Germany. Today, Germany is (once again) the richest country in the European Union, and may have ambitions to head a possible “European Union Army”.
And as for telling China they shouldn’t invade Taiwan, I’m fairly sure China knows America’s military probably isn’t strong enough to fight two sustained regional wars – one in the Ukraine and another in Taiwan. Some of our own experts are already saying it.
Did You Know? If the nearly $200 BILLION sent to the Ukraine was instead divided among America’s 435 Congressional Districts each one would have received $459,770,114 (that’s about $460 MILLION dollars). Imagine how each district could help Americans with that money. Or, it would be $587 for every single person in the United States.
