Let’s face it: Millions, billions and trillions are fairly large numbers for the average person to wrap their heads around, especially when talking about money (although, they’re nothing compared to “exajoules“, “petabytes“, or even “googols“… but, I digress)
So, instead of going all glassy-eyed about a million here, a billion there, or a trillion per year when thinking about the nation’s budget, consider instead if the United States of America consisted of just your household – “a nation of one”, to paraphrase the US Army. (Or, to fans of “Family Guy”, your own nation of “Petoria“) – and, you needed to get your credit limit raised:
