Were Republicans “Right” on Russia?

With the recent destabilization of the Ukraine and Crimea caused by the people’s forcible ousting of a ruler who favored self-enrichment over selfless rule it caused me to wonder…

… Perhaps Barack Hussein Obama should stop by Sarah Palin’s house to get a better view of Russia :-)

“The reaction of the Obama campaign to [Russia's invasion of Georgia in 2008], so at odds with our democratic allies and yet so bizarrely in sync with Moscow, doesn’t merely raise questions about Senator Obama’s judgment–it answers them.” – Senator John McCain, August 2008

“After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next.” - Gov. Sarah Palin, October 2008

“I have clear eyes on this. I’m not going to wear rose-colored glasses when it comes to Russia, or Mr. Putin. And I’m certainly not going to say to him, “I’ll give you more flexibility after the election.- Gov. Mitt Romney, October 2012

Call me “old fashioned“, or a “bitter clinger“, but I sort of miss that sense of Patriotism, Nationalism and American self-preservation infused with just enough hegemony and jingoism we’ve seen from past president such as Eisenhower, Reagan, and the Bushes – you know, the kind that’s being practiced today by Communist China and “Democratic” Russia.
