A month after Donald J. Trump was elected President the phrase “hid a rifle, canvassed a building in plain sight, used a ladder to climb onto a “too slippery roof“, and minutes into a Trump campaign rally – despite warnings by spectators and being within sight of security snipers for at least 2 minutes – attempted to assassinate the former President.
As an event which, had it succeeded, could have been more destructive to America’s Constitutional Republic than the Civil War, Pearl Harbor, or September 11th, it will “live in infamy“.
To be sure, it was a tragic, sobering day, filled with shock, grief, and relief, along with finger-pointing, accusations, and hundreds of questions (many of which may remain unanswered). And, I may catch some flack for posting these Memeories about that day, so excuse me while I “Duck and Cover“.

20-year old Thomas Crooks, killed by a security counter-sniper after firing on the former President, appeared in a 30-second ad released by the investment management firm Blackrock titled “Who we impact: Financial freedom for teachers“. This screen grab of then-student Crooks was taken with Closed Captioning turned on, creating a disturbing Memeory with its’ own unfortunate caption.

It’s reported that Trump’s sh00ter used his dad’s rifle, an AR-15 style rifle produced by DPMS Panther Arms having a 16-inch (41 cm) barrel (perhaps similar to this one), and fired standard 5.56×45mm NATO rounds. The Memeory is an example of an “AR-15 style” rifle, and one way to trigger a Liberal (pun intended!). BTW: The “AR” in “AR-15″ stands for “ArmaLite Rifle”, the name of the original 1950′s firearm.

It’s been reported that spectators and police at Trump’s campaign rally warned the US Secret Service of a suspicious person on a nearby roof at least 2 minutes before the person fired upon the former President, and pointed to the sh00ter after shots were fired. It reminded me of a similar situation over 55 years ago which had tragic results for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Had Trump not gone off-script, asked to have a chart of illegal immigration shown on the TV screens, and turned his head to take a look the assailant’s bullet(s) would have taken his life. Some claim the bullet missed by an inch.
Life almost imitates art: Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh removed his own ear (and then painted a self-portrait), while Trump almost had it removed for him.
A famous headline from the Chicago Tribune is updated to report on Trump’s near-death experience. The original version of the front page reports the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 5, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee.
My Memeory is based on arguably the best film ever created by the traditional Hollywood movie industry: “Casablanca“, released by Warner Brothers in 1942. It’s a must-see movie.
Coincidence, or a sign of God’s work? If only Rod Serling were alive to provide insightful commentary.
Another clever reference to a popular 1960′s TV action-adventure show that was far better but less visually dazzling than the 1999 big-screen movie version.
It’s just another example of “The Hypocrisy of the Liberal”.
It’s a Memeory with a double meaning: The Democrats will probably lose the November election in a big way, while the discount retail store Big Lots! will probably lose their business completely after losing $205 million last quarter. And both will lose for the same reason: Neither are giving most of the people what they really want.
Just imagine: If Joe Biden had kept his oath to protect America, finished Trump’s border wall, and prevented millions of aliens from crossing into the United State illegally Trump would have never needed to go off-script during his campaign rally to display a chart showing the failure of Biden’s border policies, never turned his head to take a look, and never lived to see July 14th, 2024. Most likely the result would have been chaos, with Biden declaring Martial Law, suspending elections, and keeping his job as president into the foreseeable future, maybe even claiming he was “Defending Democracy!” by doing so.
Fortunately, none of this happened, because – as Barack Obama allegedly said – “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f**k things up.”
