Happy Saint Donald’s Time Day!

Sorry, dear readers, for the conflation of Saint Valentine’s Day and the (second) acquittal of now former-President Trump on an impeachment charge, but it was too good to pass up…as you’ll soon discover.

Apparently, what Saint Valentinius of Rome actually did to be canonized a Saint by the Roman Catholic Church is a bit murky: Some sources report he was both a priest and a doctor, made hearts out of parchment or cloth and gave them to Christians persecuted by the Roman Empire, secretly married couples in defiance of  Emperor Claudius’ edict forbidding it – winding up in jail as a result – and being executed while jailed for refusing to denounce God and worship pagan gods instead.

Seems while he was in jail…

St. Valentine was presented with the judge’s blind daughter [whom the judge wanted Valentine to tutor] and told to restore her sight. If he succeeded, the judge vowed to do anything for Valentine. Placing his hands onto her eyes, Valentine restored the child’s vision.” (Valentine asked the judge to convert to Christianity and release Christians he jailed for their faith…which the judge did).

Valentine’s last note – to the daughter of the Judge who sentenced him, or his jailer (I told you the story was murky) – was signed “Your Valentine”.

In fact, his story may have been woven from multiple lives, as history recorded two people having the name “Valentinius” beaten, stoned, and beheaded on February 14, 270 AD, as well as many others Christians of the same name being martyred.  Thankfully, we don’t celebrate Saint Valentine’s Day the same way the Ancient Romans celebrated their pagan holiday, the Feast of Lupercalia, where women lined up to be struck with sacrificed dogs and goats in the expectation it would make them fertile (those Pagans!)

Now, I’m not suggesting former President Trump be canonized for over four years of near-constant persecution by Liberals, Democrats, and their complicit Media: After all he is still alive, and the naming of buildings, bridges, parks, and et cetera after people who are still alive is best left to the Liberals.

But consider: Trump loves America, her freedoms, her traditional values, and her citizens, refuses to renounce them, works to protect them, fights to expose and change the entrenched ruler class worshipping their “Pagan god” of Socialism, was persecuted for it for over four years, and yet could not be defeated. And now, America’s modern “Saint Valentine” has been saved once again from those who seek not just his destruction but the destruction of America’s foundational values. During Trump’s Presidency he opened our eyes by educating those who would listen about the inner workings of America’s entrenched government and politicians who would place the preservation of their careers, wealth, and prosperity not simply above but to the detriment of their constituents and country they’ve sworn to represent and protect.

“Way back” on January 11th, 2020 I wrote a piece comparing Donald Trump to that raconteur Baron von Münchhausen, stating Trump used those Munchhausen-like qualities to achieve more accomplishments as President than any other President since Ronald Reagan.

Perhaps Donald J. Trump also has some of the Christian qualities of Saint Valentine of Rome…with none of the nasty “martyrdom” of his predecessor (or, is it “two predecessors”? It’s a bit murky.)

Thanks for Reading! (and, Happy Saint Valentine’s Day!)
