On Sunday, December 7th, 1941, 150 ships and service vessels, representing half of the United States Pacific Naval Fleet, was anchored at Pearl Harbor.
The surprise military attack by the Empire of Japan at approximately 7:48 AM Hawaii time lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes, ultimately resulting in the following:
“[On] December 7th, 1941 — a date which will live in infamy — the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan…No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory…[We] will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost, but will make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us.”
- President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Speech to the Joint Session of Congress, December 8th, 1941
“I encourage all Americans to observe this solemn day and to honor our military, past and present, with appropriate ceremonies and activities. I urge all Federal agencies and interested organizations, groups, and individuals to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff in honor of those American patriots who died as a result of their service at Pearl Harbor.”
- President Donald J. Trump, Proclamation: “NATIONAL PEARL HARBOR REMEMBRANCE DAY, 2025“, December 5th, 2025
Let’s remember Pearl Harbor, and be ever on guard for those using diplomacy and negotiation to take advantage of America’s good faith and trust to deliberately plan for war against us.
Thanks to all who serve, have served, and have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the United States, and…
