About those 50501 Protests (and, a Memeory!)

Dems tell YOU what to do Today, as I’m writing this, the Left is conducting a “grassroots” anti-Trump protest in each of the 50 States.

It’s cleverly called 50501: 50 Protests, 50 States, 1 Day, and sponsored by a group called the “50501 Movement“.

As most of my friends and readers know by now I’m a big fan of the 1st Amendment, so they can peacefully protest all they want, whenever they want (unless I’m sleeping )

However, if it’s anything like the 1960′s Riots, the 1999 “Battle in Seattle”, the 2011 Occupy Wall Street Protests, the 2017 Inauguration Day Riots, or the massively destructive 2020 BLM / Antifa Riots, I’d suggest staying far, far away and watching the news.

And, after perusing some of the announcements of protest organizers it’s interesting (but hardly surprising) to see that various words, slogans, or symbols which were anathema to the Left’s causes during the Biden/Harris Administration suddenly seem to be back in vogue now that Trump’s been elected by a majority of voters (none of which presumably were the protesters).

For example:

Under Biden it was “Equity!” and now, under Trump, it’s “Equality!”
…it was “Democracy!”, now it’s “the Constitution!”
…it was “Trans Rights!”, now it’s “Women’s Rights!”
…the US Flag was “Racist”, now it’s “Patriotic” and must be “reclaimed”.
etc.

Yes indeed, it looks like the playbook of Progressive Activist Saul Alinsky is once again being used. Seems they’ve already chosen and personalized the target, will surely use ridicule, employ veiled threats, keep the pressure on, and use any means to justify their ends. Because, of course, Trump.

And, for those wanting to keep score on this or any future protest by Progressives, Socialists, Liberals, or Democrats here’s a handy “Cheat Sheet” of Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals:

Sure, these protests are only for one day…. but, they could be a harbinger of many “one days” to come. For example, the Left’s already talking about their next protest, “March-a-Lago”, a Palm Beach protest they first conducted in 2017.

And, it’s not even Summer yet.
