Did you know the most prized marbles in a kid’s collection are “Dragon eyes”? It’s also the name of the most successful missing child recovery operation in the USA.

Thanks to Joe Biden’s actions to open America’s borders while in office, including the Department of Homeland Security’s 2021 “Guidelines for Enforcement Actions” placing strict limitations upon and lax enforcement of Federal Immigration laws, it’s estimated that over 7.8 million illegal aliens entered into the United States, with over 3 million released into the USA, less than 3% were deported, and an estimated additional 1.8 evading capture (“gotaways”).

Including at least 323,000 unaccompanied minor children (UMC) who either failed to appear for their immigration court date (32,000) or had not successfully received their notice to appear in court (291,000). (read more here).

Of course “not successfully received” could mean the paperwork was never sent out or sent to the wrong address. (We all know how Government works.)

However, it could also mean the paperwork arrived at a fictional address, the child was moved from their stated address, or the child didn’t or couldn’t respond. And those outcomes could include the risk that the child was being illegally trafficked for cheap labor, mental, physical or s-xual abuse, or adoption. (and we all know how criminals work.)

For 60 of these – and other – many thousands of missing children in the United States that risk was not only realized but is now over: Thanks to Florida’s Operation Dragon Eye they’ve been rescued from their plight, along with the arrest of eight people suspected of illegal trafficking or participation.

Congratulations to all the Law Enforcement agencies and personnel whose cooperation and hard work made this possible; and to all those who’ll be spending time now and in the future trying to rehabilitate those children and allow them to recapture some of their youth.

Is it 60 out of 32,000, or 60 out of 323,000? It might matter to some.

What should matter to all is that this work must continue, expand, and move faster. President Trump’s overturning of Biden’s relevant Executive Orders, followed by Trump’s enforcement of Immigration Laws and America’s Southern border, and the demand for increased border agents, security technologies, and border wall construction in his “Big Beautiful Bill” should significantly help.

As Liberals are wont to say (especially when it suits them) it must be done, “for the children!”.
