What the Bell did King Charles give to Trump?

HMS Trump - Ship's BellDuring Britain’s King Charles and his wife’s visit to the United States to commemorate the America’s 250th Anniversary of independence from England the King presented President Trump with the ship’s bell from the HMS Trump, a Triton-Class Submarine which saw service in World War II and was decommissioned in 1969.

(The submarine’s name has nothing to do with the Trump family: All 53 “T-Class” submarines had a name beginning with “T”.)

The King’s generous, navy-related gift was obviously a symbolic gesture, but what was it supposed to symbolize?

When President Trump spoke of “the transcendent bond” between America and Britain during King Charles III’s visit was the President aware that during the War of 1812 England launched a naval blockade of the USA, sailed up Virginia’s Chesapeake Bay, captured Washington D.C., and burned down the White House, the US Treasury Building, and the unfinished Nation’s Capitol (also home to the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court)?

“Never was nectar more grateful to the palates of the gods than the crystal goblets of Madeira and water I quaffed off at [US President James] Madison’s expense.”
British officer James Scott, prior to the British Army setting the White House ablaze

Did Trump also know that during the Civil War the Confederate South traded and sold cotton to British firms in return for weapons, ammo, and warships, with bootleggers from England running them through the President Lincoln’s naval blockade for lucrative profits?

I’m betting he might, based on Trump’s interdiction of drug boats carrying illegal drugs from Venezuela to America and Europe, his blockage of illegal supertankers transporting crude oil through the Caribbean, and his blockade of Iranian supertankers illegally shipping crude oil to China.

And I’m guessing Trump’s well aware that Britain withdrew its’ warships from the Middle East prior to the start of Operation Epic Fury on Feb. 28, 2026, eventually sending one warship back to the region on March 10th after most of Iran’s major military was destroyed, with the ship having to dock for repairs on April 8th?

The same “Britain” that signed an agreement to surrender their island of Diego Garcia off the coast of India – location of a major US military Air Force base since 1986 – to the nation of Mauritius and then lease it back from that tiny country for $101 Million per year for at least 99 years? A country aligned with China, who wants to control the lanes for military & commercial reasons.

“China says, ‘Fine. [Britain's deal with Mauritius] sounds good to us.’ Why? Because, number one, China has already started currying favor with Mauritius. And, number two, Mauritius will now be in charge of the security of the Chagos Islands and our military base and the waters surrounding it. China – Xi Jinping – he’s as happy as a gopher in soft dirt. He’ll be hacking the Mauritius security as soon as the trade is made.”
Senator John Kennedy (R-LA), speech to the US Senate, 21 Nov 2024

Was King Charles’ generous gift meant to represent President Trump’s military and diplomatic power over the rest of the World, a reminder of Britain’s gradual destruction of the own once-powerful navy, or just a pretty, shiny, gold bell having Trump’s name on it to put behind the President’s desk in the Oval Office?

Perhaps it’s all three.

And perhaps President Trump should repeatedly ring that bell as a warning to Britain’s Left-leaning leader Keir Starmer, his Democratic Socialist Labour Party, and Democrats in the US Congress to stop Britain from undermining the United States once again.
