My 2020 Electoral Vote Prediction

Let’s face it, Trump Supporters, Senator Joe Biden will win the Popular Vote: The Democrats have such overwhelming support in California and New York that those two states alone will guarantee it.

Fortunately, the Founding Fathers in their wisdom recognized that in a “Democracy” only the loudest voice(s) are heard – not all voices are heard equally. So, to balance out the possibility of one large, heavily-populated state voting to lord over all the smaller states they wrote Article II, Section 1, Clauses 2 and 3 into the US Constitution, establishing the Electoral College. Essentially, the Electoral College acts as an intermediary body to give the smaller states a more equal voice against the larger states, and help ensure all voices are heard. And, it provides a number of other advantages aimed at preserving our system of Government.

(Note those smart Founding Fathers set up our Congress in a similar fashion: The House of Representatives is based on the population size of each state, while the Senate is based on the number of states: The more populated states have more Representatives, but each state has only two Senators. So, the bigger states can outvote the smaller ones in the House, but the smaller ones can combine to outvote the larger ones in the Senate…clever! But, I digress…)

So, Presidential Elections these days all boil down to who wins the Electoral College, and here’s my prediction:

2020 Presidential Election: Predicted Results

BIDEN (D) WINS… TRUMP (R) WINS…
  • All of New England except New Hampshire
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Delaware
  • District of Columbia
  • Illinois
  • New Mexico
  • New York
  • Minnesota
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Virginia
  • Washington
  • All of the remaining States
Total Electoral Votes = 208 Total Electoral Votes = 330

President Trump is re-elected in an Electoral College landslide, but loses the Popular Vote by about 2.7 million votes.

And, that’s the difference between a pure “Democracy” and America’s “Democratic Constitutional Republic”.
