Now consider a Federal Government, and in particular one political party, who wants to control your health, wealth, kids, freedoms, and social standing. And, as time goes on the collection and analysis of your personal data, along with the Government’s involvement, will only increase.
Present day, in the dystopian country called “Eurasia“. Two men are sitting in a small room having tiled walls and a ceiling and floor of dull gray concrete. A single, harsh light emanates from the ceiling and a small drain sits in the center of the floor. The room is absent of furniture other than a hard concrete bench along each wall. One of the men is visibly upset.
‘Vax-crime!’ said Parsons, almost blubbering. The tone of his voice implied at once a complete admission of his guilt and a sort of incredulous horror that such a word could be applied to himself. He paused opposite Winston and began eagerly appealing to him: ‘You don’t think they’ll forcibly vaccinate me, do you, old chap?
The other day I found myself introduced into the middle of a relationship conflict between a young married couple. Now, those who know me know I abhor most conflict and its’ associated drama (also violence and many of the Seven Deadly Sins…but, I digress), but I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to be an impartial sympathetic ear to each person involved.
The nice thing about it was I got to hear both sides of the situation. The bad news was I couldn’t be an arbiter as each person approached me separately at separate times without their spouse present and each made me promise to keep their confidence. However, thanks to the Observer Effect I could at least influence the situation slightly simply by being there.
