Memeory Time: What Happened to Monkeypox?!?

Just my luck: As soon as I create a couple of clever memes about a brand new strain of a well-known virus all the reporting on it suddenly stops (or, maybe I was just so busy reading about how Monkeypox could be the next COVID-19, but easier to transmit and much deadlier, that I forgot to post them…yeah, let’s go with that excuse ;-) )

Anyway, enjoy!

Hello Monkeypox

Interesting Facts
As soon as it was publicly reported that the MPVX (H-MPVX) strain of the Monkeypox virus was primarily spreading among same-sex males and later spreading to both children and press reports on the virus suddenly stopped. Even the CDC has apparently stopped reporting Monkeypox Cases by Age and Gender, Race/Ethnicity, and Symptoms.

Interesting Facts
The Monkeypox virus was discovered in 1958, with the first human case reported in 1972 and the first case in the USA reported in 2003. The virus can be effectively treated using known treatments for smallpox. Historically, nearly all cases of Monkeypox happen in under-developed countries, the most being in Africa. The 2022 outbreak in the USA, which peaked in August, has infected 28,881 with 11 reported deaths (a mortality rate of 0.04%).
