Bugs & Daffy’s Seasonal Discourse.

What Season is it?

If you think that’s humorous – or, even if you don’t – the clip is a modified portion of the excellent 1950′s Merrie Melodies Cartoon by Warner Brothers titled “Rabbit Fire”, starring Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, with Elmer Fudd as the befuddled, hapless hunter who can’t decide who to shoot.

And, if you’ve got about 8 more minutes to spare, check out the full cartoon “Rabbit Fire”: Continue reading

COVID-19 = “Communist Coercion”? Really?

Well, that can’t be right…

Chart 1: Communist Coercive Methods for Eliciting Individual Compliance

(Click image to enlarge)

Individual Isolation“, “Group Isolation“, and “Restricted Movement” = Social Distancing, Self-Quarantine, and Lockdowns?

Threats of Non-repatriation” = You’ll lose your job or fail to get one unless you’re vaccinated?

Rewards for Compliance” = Get vaccinated and we’ll pay you, give you a gift, or allow you more freedom to travel?

Insults and Taunts” = Those who don’t believe the CDC’s “science” are idiots, people treating themselves are taking “horse dewormer”, the unvaccinated are putting others at risk of death, etc.?

…no, wait a minute, maybe it could be.

Quote of the Day: Sagacious Carl Sagan

Today I am pleased to offer, for your consideration, a quote from noted Astronomer Carl Sagan from 1995:

“Science is more than a body of knowledge; it is a way of thinking.

I have a foreboding of an America in my children’s or grandchildren’s time —

…when the United States is a service and information economy;

…when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries;

…when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues;

…when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority;

…when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what’s true,

…we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness.”

- Astronomer Carl Sagan, “The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark“, 1995

A Date which will [Again] live in Infamy?

FYI: I originally wrote this posting on October 8th, 2020 but circumstances prevented me from posting it until now.

The day after the December 7th, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor the President of the United States, Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt, gave a speech to a Joint Session of Congress. In his speech he mentioned how the attack was a surprise, how Japan acted in bad faith, that other targets attacked, how America and her people would rise up and defeat this new enemy no matter what it took, and for Congress to declare war on Japan.

What President Roosevelt didn’t say was the United States Navy was essentially destroyed, the USA had no effective air force, our army was the 16th largest in the world behind even Romania, an immediate nationwide military draft would be required, rationing would have to be enacted, peacetime goods would disappear, and hundreds of thousands of US casualties would result, causing pain, anguish, and sacrifice by all Americans in their fight against two major military powers…all with no guarantee America and her allies would ultimately win.

When (P)residential Candidate Joe “Basement” Biden and “Vice” (P)residential Candidate Kamala “Debasement” Harris accused President Trump & Vice President Pence of not acting act fast enough, not being honest enough, and ultimately failed at containing, the COVID-19 virus perhaps they didn’t stop to consider Democrat President FDR’s lack of candor and honesty during his “Pearl Harbor” Speech of 1941.

So, let’s jump back to January 22, 2020 and imagine if President Trump, the day after the first confirmed case of COVID-19 was discovered in the United States, appeared before a Joint Session of Congress and delivered a speech with the “honesty” demanded by Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and their fellow Liberal Democrats: A speech Democrat President FDR was too reluctant, too cowardly, or more realistically too smart to give.

The Second Oldest Lie: Verified?

It’s been said (even by me) that the “Second Oldest Lie” in the world is:

“I’m from the Government, and I’m here to help.”

As to what the “World’s Oldest Lie” is rumored to be, modesty – and my website host – prevents me from mentioning it, which is just fine because it’s not important right now.

But, what might be important is a recent study documenting which countries paid a higher price during the COVID-19 “Eldemic”: Continue reading

Biden’s Number One at Number Two!

On Sunday, November 29th, 2020 (P)resident (s)elect Joe “Basement” Biden’s campain announced Biden has selected an all-female White House Communications Staff, which “Vice” (P)resident (s)elect Kamala Harris called “barrier-breaking”.

Of course, a breathless Press was only too eager to report his history-making act:

“…it’s the first time the entire senior White House communications team will be entirely female.” - Time Magazine, Nov. 30, 2020

“…it’s the first time the entire senior White House communications team will be entirely female.” - US News and World Report, Nov. 29, 2020

“…the first time in history that all seven roles will be held by women.” - Elle Magazine, Nov. 30, 2020

“For the first time in U.S. history, the staff will be comprised entirely of women.” - MSN / CBS News, Nov. 30, 2020.

“…it’s the first time the entire senior White House communications team will be entirely female.” - The Christian Science Monitor, Nov. 30, 2020

For comparison, here’s the list of President Trump’s current communications staff:

  • President’s Senior Advisor: Hope Hicks (female)
  • President’s Press Secretary: Kayleigh McEnany (female)
  • President’s Communications Director: Alyssa Farah (female)
  • Vice President’s Communications Director: Katie Miller (female)
  • First Lady’s Communications Director: Kara Brooks (female)
  • First Lady’s Chief of Staff and Spokesperson: Stephanie Grisham (female)

Perhaps Joe simply made an “honest mistake” when announcing it. Or, maybe the press should have fact-checked Joe Biden’s boast instead of speculating if Biden might adopt one of Howard Stern’s cats.

On the bright side, if Joe Biden is going to make a habit of this maybe he’ll wind up repeating a few of President Trump’s over 500 accomplishments.

Because it seems when it comes to number one a (P)resident Joe Biden will undoubtedly be a “Number Two“.
