On Friday, November 5th, 2021, Dr. Eli David, CTO of Deep Learning at Nano Dimension, pointed out that Vermont, the state with the highest percentage of residents age 12 and over vaccinated against COVID-19 in the entire United States, is now experiencing the highest number of reported COVID-19 cases during 2021.

Over 80% of Vermont’s residents are vaccinated against COVID-19, with 71% fully vaccinated – the highest rate in the entire United States for people age 12 and over:
Vermont reported 265 new cases of COVID-19, the highest level reported during all of 2021:
Diving deeper, we see Vermont also reported an increasing number of reported deaths of people with COVID-19, which is now tied with the highest death rate reported during all of 2021:

So, the state with highest COVID-19 vaccination rate in the USA also has their highest number of reported cases and related deaths?
Sounds like the COVID-19 vaccine might lose its’ effectiveness over time. Or, perhaps, all new infections are happening among the unvaccinated or those whose natural immunity from a previous COVID-19 infection has decreased. Or, could a new variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus be outsmarting current vaccines and natural immunity? And, of course, there’s a difference between dying from COVID-19 and dying with COVID-19. Or, maybe not.
Does the State of Vermont keep track of those statistics, and make them easily available for the public to view? Might be nice for the public to know if they wanted to make an informed decision about their health.
