The New York State Assembly (lower chamber) has been controlled by Democrats since 1992 – 33 years, while Democrats have controlled all of State government – the Governor, Senate, and Assembly – since 2018. And in New York City, Democrats comprise the majority of voters in almost every election since 1900: During the 2024 Presidential Election 68% of the votes were Democrat.

With Democrats literally controlling both New York City and New York State for years one might conclude that Democrats could be responsible for many of the problems confronting New York City residents: The highest individual tax burden in the country, a crumbling infrastructure, its’ unaffordable cost of living, rising homelessness, increased non-violent crime, perhaps even the New York Yankees having arguably the worst inning in World Series history (well, maybe not that last item).

So, of course, when election time rolls around and voters complain that a change is needed to solve the city’s problems Democrat voters vote for change by simply electing a different Democrat.

It’s as if they want to continually prove that old adage “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.”

And the 2025 NYC Mayoral Election was no different, with NYC voters electing another Democrat, but this time the “change” is that he’s a Muslim, Marxist, and reportedly anti-Semite named Zohran Mamdani who has promised Free Bus Fares, Rent Controls, Childcare for All, and City-run Grocery Stores, all to be paid for by taxing the “Rich”.

Only time will tell what Zohran Mamdani will eventually do to New York City, and he won’t even be sworn into office until January 1, 2026. In the meantime there’s only one thing to do: SING!
