Video: Why Biden Shouldn’t Debate Trump

March 6, 2024:
Former President Trump challenges Joe Biden to a public debate:
Trump Challenges Biden to Debate

Over two Months Later:
Joe Biden Challenges former President Trump to two debates, “Dirty Harry” style:

“…since 2020 [Trump] hasn’t shown up for a debate. Now he’s acting like he wants to debate me again. Well make my day, pal. I’ll even do it twice. So let’s pick the dates, Donald. I hear you’re free on Wednesdays.

- Joe Biden, May 15th, 2024, two months after Trump publicly challenged him to a debate.

On June 27th, 2024 Joe Biden and President Donald J. Trump will hold their first of two planned debates, moderated by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash in Atlanta, GA.
  • The 90-minute prime-time debate, held without a live audience, will have each candidate standing behind an identical podium with a pen, blank paper, and water but without any notes or props to help them.

Now, just in case Joe Biden – America’s gravity-challenged, stumbling, bumbling, brain-addled, physically deteriorating, mispronouncing, grifting gaffe machine – thinks he clearly has the advantage during the first debate, take a look at how Trump handles an interview where Trump has no notes, props, or live audience, and interviewers who can ask him any question they want and instantly comment on any answer he gives:

“Say ‘Willie’, that Giant’s Kid is Great!”

1954 Topps Willie Mays CardLast night, while I and other regulars at my local sports bar watched the Red Sox play the Toronto Blue Jays and the Florida Panthers play the Edmonton Oilers, we heard about the passing of baseball legend Willie Howard Mays Jr., at the age of 93.

None of us are old enough to have watched Willie “Say Hey!” Mays play in person – his last game was in 1973 with the NY Mets, long before most of us were even born – but as baseball fans we all knew the “Say Hey Kid” had talents which elevated him to the rarefied air occupied by such legendary outfielders as Ty Cobb, “Shoeless Joe” Jackson, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Jackie Robinson, Joe DiMaggio, Hank Aaron, Carl Yastremski, and Pete Rose, among others.

So, we paused to remember the greatest outfielder, and arguably the greatest player, in baseball history (unless you’re a Yankees fan ;-) ) And after a toast we went back to watching sports athletes others may idolize, talk about, and remember long after we’re gone.

While I’ll leave it to the baseball experts and pundits to memorialize Mays and wax nostalgically on his spectacular career, I couldn’t end my post without including the play that cemented Willie Mays’ place in sports history, simply known as “The Catch”:

During Game 1 of the 1954 World Series between the NY Giants and the Cleveland Indians Willie Mays made what many call “the greatest defensive play ever made” in baseball during the 8th inning of Game 1 of the World Series, September-29 1954 between the NY Giants and the Cleveland Indians:

His seemingly impossible, over-the-shoulder catch made just feet away from the center field wall during the game’s 8th inning prevented Cleveland from breaking a 2-2 tie, and the Giants went on to win the game 5-2 in the 10th inning thanks to Dusty Rhodes’ pinch-hit, three-run, walk off homer. The Giants won the Series in four games, beating the team with the American League’s best record.

Wille’s exceptional talents brought him so much fame he appeared in movies and even had a couple of catchy (pun intended) songs written about him.:

——————————————-

“Say Hey (The Willie Mays Song)” (Kleiner-Douglass-Warner),
sung by the Treniers w/ Willie Mays
(1954, Epic/Columbia Records, #5-9066)

“He runs the bases like a choo-choo train,
Swings around second like an aeroplane.
His cap flies off when he passes third,
And he heads home like an eagle bird.”

——————————————-

“Say Hey Willie Mays” (Willard Robison),
sung by the Singing Wanderers
(1954, Decca Records, #9-29230)

“Hey Willie, there’s a story told that we believe is true,
The Lord made you and lost the mold so there’s only one of you.
For a place in the Baseball Hall of Fame,
Scribes are writing down Willie’s name.
For he is a credit to our national game,
Glory to his name!”

Say Hey! Say Hey! Say Hey! Willie, Willie Mays!

Probably Pride Month’s BEST Unintentional Tag Line!

Recently Nathan’s Famous announced professional eater Joey Chestnut was banned from competing in their 2024 “Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest” after signing a deal with Impossible Foods, a Nathan’s competitor.

And Impossible Foods responded with what could be the best unintentional tag line for Pride Month:

“It’s OK to experiment with a new [hot] dog. Meat eaters shouldn’t have to be exclusive to just one wiener.”
- Impossible Foods, makers of plant-based fake meat products

Chestnut is a 16-time champion of the July 4th event held at Nathan’s flagship delicatessen in Coney Island, NY, and when it comes to handling wieners and buns, Joey Chestnut holds the record: 76 hot dogs and buns consumed in 10 minutes.

That’s an impressive accomplishment for anyone, no matter what Gender Pronoun(s) they care to label themselves with*, and it’s only one of at least 50 records Chestnut holds for his rapid consumption of food.

Two companies discussing wieners during Pride Month, with one claiming they’re against “wiener monagamy”?

For some strange reason this doesn’t surprise me.

Added Bonus!

*Important Disclaimer: This posting is not meant to indicate, suggest or imply the sexual preferences of, or support by, Joey Chestnut, Nathan’s Famous, or Impossible Foods. After all, it should be none of anybody’s business.

Biggs wants 51 “Intelligence Experts” to be Insecure

Republican Congressman Andy Biggs, representing Arizona’s Fifth District, recently told Dan Ball of One America News he’s filed a congressional bill to revoke the security clearances of the 51 Intelligence “Experts” who publicly claimed in a letter released just before the 2020 Presidential Election that Hunter Biden’s laptop could be “Russian disinformation” aimed at influencing the election’s outcome.

However, while Rep. Biggs states these 51 experts were “lying”, the actual language they signed on to was:

“…our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.”

Those 51 “Experts” never said the laptop’s contents were fake, or that Russia had any involvement with the laptop at all: They based their claim on their collective “experience” – or, expressed another way, “feels“.

However, when it comes to Government Security Clearances Rep. Biggs certainly has the right idea: Why do former Federal Employees continue to have Security Clearances years after they’ve officially stopped working for the Government?

Happy B’day to our Flag, the US Army, and our President!

On June 14, 1777 the United States’ Second Continental Congress passed a resolution establishing the Colonial flag created by Betsy Ross as the official flag of the young United States of America:

“That the flag of the thirteen United States be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation.”
  - Second Continental Congress, resolution of June 14, 1777

The anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777 was officially established as “Flag Day” by the Proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30th, 1916. However, it did not become a National holiday until August 3rd, 1949, when President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14th of each year as National Flag Day.

June 14th, 1777 is also the same day the Second Continental Congress adopted the Continental Army, and is celebrated by the US Army as their official birthday.

Finally, June 14th is also the birthday of perhaps America’s most well-known, most accomplished, and some might say the most viciously persecuted President in history: Donald John Trump, who was born on this day in 1946. And there’s absolutely no doubt he loves America, the Flag, and what they stand for:

(and some people don’t know why…but, we do)

So, Happy Birthday to our Flag, the United States Army, and President Trump, with best wishes and the hope you all have many more happy and healthy birthdays!

D-Day 2024: Honoring those who Fought to Preserve Freedom

This year marks the 80th Anniversary of “Operation Overlord”, the invasion of Europe by the Allied Expeditionary Forces at Normandy, France on June 6th, 1944. It was the largest combined air and sea military operation ever conducted at the time, involving 5,333 Allied ships and landing craft, 175,000 men landing ashore, and 20,000 paratroopers dropped from 1,200 aircraft after 2,200 aircraft conducted bombing, recon, and attacks against German forces prior to the invasion.

As of 2023, approximately 119,000 veterans of World War II survive, with 131 Veterans dying every day. About 150 of them are at Normandy today, including 12 who landed on the beaches on D-Day.

On this day let’s not forget the sacrifices made by those who fought to preserve Freedom on that day.
